October 2026
- October 15, 2026A Class C felony failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer was charged at Fairbanks on Oct. 14 and arraigned the same afternoon, alongside a Class A misdemeanour drink-driving count. Eight Fairbanks cases were filed on Wednesday, the busiest filing day in the report's window: a city prosecution for unlawful discharge of a firearm, a domestic violence assault with a warrant requested, a theft case on a $5,000 warrant, three further misdemeanours, and one number the public database refuses. A Class B felony domestic violence assault indicted on Oct. 8 was arraigned in Superior Court on Oct. 14. A change of plea was held in a North Pole domestic violence case and the hearing result is recorded as Case Disposed while the case status still reads Reopened and no disposition is printed against any count. A judgment was entered in a separate North Pole domestic violence case indicted in April, which this record had not previously carried. A Class C felony assault charge was dismissed by the prosecution on Oct. 13 and that case is closed. Two files that had carried no charging document are now charged. Troopers are investigating a death at a North Pole residence, with no cause and no manner of death stated and no crime alleged. A hit and run reported on Oct. 12 was posted by the troopers on Oct. 14 with no suspect identified. The weekly criminal charges report, run-stamped 9:00 p.m. Oct. 14, lists 47 Fairbanks cases, 3 at Nenana, 2 at Delta Junction and none at Healy for a nineteenth consecutive week; nothing arrived late onto a day already read, and eight numbers the court opened on Oct. 8 are absent from it for a sixth run. The criminal dispositions report has not refreshed in three days. Thirteen case numbers the court prints are denied by the public database, one of them new. Five case files state six charges and the database serves five, so charge counts on two of them are published as five of six with the sixth recorded as unknown. The city police bulletin added rows to six dated days, including two that had shown none. The trooper page for Oct. 15 was not published at the first reading and had published by a later reading the same morning, with the D Detachment block that covers the Fairbanks area reporting nothing at that time. The Alaska Court System's daily court calendar for the Fairbanks courthouse lists 138 criminal matters for Thursday, among them a fugitive-from-justice hearing at 1:30 p.m. The U.S. Attorney index could not be fetched by the direct route its reading requires and was read by another non-browser route for a second morning, establishing the membership of the index and nothing finer.19
- October 14, 2026A Class A felony charge of robbery in the first degree, armed with a deadly weapon, was filed at Fairbanks on Oct. 13 over an arrest the day before, superseding this record's earlier statement that no court file carried it. A felony drink-driving case at Fairbanks was indicted after the defendant failed to appear at a bail hearing and was arrested on a $25,000 warrant on Oct. 13. A second indictment was returned on a Class C felony failure to stop at North Pole, with a misdemeanour count added to it. Four Fairbanks-area files that had carried no charging document are now charged, all with misdemeanours, and one still carries none. Five Fairbanks cases were filed on Tuesday, two of them with no charge recorded at all. Three Class C felony assault counts over offences at Fairbanks were filed at the Nenana court, and a Class C felony domestic violence assault at Fairbanks was charged with three counts of assault when a child is present. The weekly criminal charges report, run-stamped 9:01 p.m. Oct. 13, lists 45 Fairbanks cases, 4 at Nenana, 2 at Delta Junction and none at Healy for an eighteenth consecutive week. The criminal dispositions report has not refreshed in two days. Twelve case numbers the court prints are still denied by the public database, unchanged for a sixth morning. The trooper dispatch page for Oct. 14 was not posted at the time of reading and the city police bulletin returned no rows for Oct. 12 and Oct. 13, each a complete day; a count of zero means only that nothing had been posted when the feed was read.13
- October 13, 2026A man was arrested at Fairbanks on Oct. 12 after a reported robbery at a sporting goods shop, on offences police recorded as robbery in the first degree, misconduct involving a weapon in the third degree and assault in the third degree; no court file has been opened and no charge class is stated. The Alaska Court System's weekly criminal charges report, run-stamped 9:01 p.m. Oct. 12, lists 43 Fairbanks cases, 4 at Nenana, 2 at Delta Junction and none at Healy for the window Oct. 6 to Oct. 12, and places two further Fairbanks cases under Sunday, Oct. 11, a day the previous run printed with three; one of the two carries a concealed-weapon count corresponding to a traffic stop on Oct. 8. A grand jury indicted the Delta Junction arson case 4DJ-26-00060CR on Oct. 9, and the arson count is now recorded on the file as a Class B felony. The Nenana case 4NE-26-00096CR is indicted on a Class B felony burglary count in place of an earlier Class C felony charge. Six Fairbanks cases were filed on Monday, three of their counts recorded as domestic violence related. Troopers reported two further incidents on Oct. 12 at North Pole and one at Fairbanks early on Oct. 13. Counts in the filings table are the weekly report's own counts for its stated window, which closes at 9 p.m. and is short of its own last filing day; the court has also opened eight Fairbanks case numbers that the report does not print, and prints one number, 4FA-26-02024CR, that the public case-number search returns no record for. The criminal dispositions report has not refreshed since Oct. 12.14
- October 12, 2026A six-offence arrest recorded by troopers at Fairbanks on Oct. 10 was charged the following day on six counts, four of them felonies, led by first-degree burglary in a dwelling, a Class B felony. A second Fairbanks file charged a Class C felony domestic violence assault within the day of the arrest. A third file opened on Sunday carries no charge at all. Troopers reported a death at Fairbanks on Oct. 10 with no foul play suspected. The Alaska Court System's criminal dispositions report refreshed for the first time in six days and records the first-degree murder charge in 4FA-26-00112CR as dismissed on Oct. 8 after a finding that the defendant was incompetent, together with about twenty further Fairbanks closures. The weekly criminal charges report, run-stamped 9:00 p.m. Oct. 11, lists 39 Fairbanks cases, 4 at Nenana, 2 at Delta Junction and none at Healy for a seventeenth consecutive week.7
- October 11, 2026The Fairbanks court file carrying a Class C felony assault charge from Oct. 6, 4FA-26-02028CR, is printed on Oct. 11 against a different name than this report published for three days, on two docket entries reading errata as to name and identifiers; a second file opened the same day charges giving false information as to identity at arrest for the day of that arrest. The correction is below. Six counts including three Class C felonies were filed at the Nenana court over a rollover at Anderson, and the filed counts match the trooper account offence for offence. Troopers recorded a six-offence arrest at Fairbanks, including two counts of third-degree assault, for which no court file carries any count. Nine criminal cases were filed in the Fairbanks area on Saturday, three of them carrying no charge at all, one of those for an offence recorded at North Pole, which has no police feed of any kind. Troopers recorded a woman found dead at a residence off the Old Steese Highway with no foul play suspected and no manner of death stated. The weekly court filing counts below are the court report's own counts for its own window, Oct. 4 to Oct. 10; eight case numbers the court opened on Oct. 8 are absent from it for a third consecutive run, so the counts are a floor rather than a total. The first-degree murder case closed on Oct. 9 has been removed from the open-case list below. One item read on an Alaska State Troopers page is withheld pending review.11
- October 10, 2026The first-degree murder charge in 4FA-26-00112CR was dismissed on Friday, Oct. 9 on a finding that the defendant was found incompetent, and the case was closed; no press release and no news report has been published on it. A grand jury returned on Thursday in a fourth Fairbanks case, 4FA-26-01916CR, which this report had not previously carried; the correction to Thursday's figure of three is below. A man arrested at Tok was charged on Friday with second-degree sexual assault and second-degree assault, both Class B felonies, and a man arrested at Venetie was charged with second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. Nine criminal cases were filed in the Fairbanks area on Friday, four of them carrying no charge at all. Two Fairbanks defendants failed to appear on Friday and warrants were ordered. Troopers recorded a death investigation at Clear with no manner of death stated. Five open Fairbanks cases were added to the open-case list below after being found by name search; they were open throughout and were not previously listed here. The weekly court filing counts below are the court report's own counts for its own window, Oct. 3 to Oct. 9; eight case numbers the court opened on Oct. 8 resolve in the court's public database and appear nowhere in that report for a second consecutive week. The U.S. Attorney's press index for the District of Alaska could not be reached this morning and nothing is reported from it.16
- October 9, 2026A dismissal of criminal charges was filed on Thursday, Oct. 8 in 4FA-26-00112CR, the indicted Fairbanks first-degree murder case, three days after a competency stay on it was lifted; the court's public file does not state who filed it, what it reaches or whether the case is at an end, the murder count is still printed with its indicted charge, and no event now stands on the file. A Fourth Judicial District grand jury returned in three cases the same day: a Class B felony count of second-degree assault in a Fairbanks domestic violence case, and six Class A felony methamphetamine counts across two files, one of them against a man the Fairbanks court has had a warrant out for since Sep. 29 with no arrest recorded. The court file in the Oct. 2 sexual abuse conviction now carries the verdicts document, an order of commitment and a March 18, 2027 sentencing date, where on Oct. 8 it carried none of them; that is corrected below. Nine criminal cases were filed in the area on Oct. 8, two of them at Nenana. The filings counts below are the court report's own counts for the week ending Oct. 8. The court opened at least one case that week which that report does not carry: a Minor Offense case filed on Oct. 8, 4FA-26-05258MO, is in a series the criminal charges report does not carry at all.12
- October 8, 2026A Fairbanks jury convicted a 58-year-old man of two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor on Oct. 2, and six days later the court's public file records no verdict, no remand and no sentencing hearing; the conviction is public because the Alaska Department of Law published a release on Oct. 5. A Fourth Judicial District grand jury returned a Class A felony count of leaving the scene of an injury accident on Oct. 7, replacing a Class A misdemeanour drink-driving count on the same count of a Nenana case, and indicted three Class C felony counts in a separate Fairbanks case. A change of plea was entered on Oct. 2 in a case charging two counts of second-degree murder dated to November 1993. A man under indictment for kidnapping was arraigned in Superior Court and released to a third-party custodian. Two more case numbers printed by the court no longer appear in its public database, one of them the court number for a Nenana assault arrest on Oct. 7. The filings counts below are the court report's own counts for the week ending Oct. 7; that report lists a Nenana case number that the court's public database does not return, and it revised a row it had printed as carrying no charge into a Class C felony.16
- October 7, 2026A Fourth Judicial District grand jury indicted a woman on a first-degree burglary count on Oct. 6, replacing a lesser burglary charge on the same count. A man under indictment on two Class C felonies failed to appear at a Fairbanks hearing the same afternoon and a warrant was issued at $5,000. Charges were filed over a conditions-of-release referral that troopers made on Oct. 5, and a warrant was issued on that case as well. Troopers forwarded an assault charge over a Fairbanks disturbance with no arrest and no court file, and referred a 16-year-old to the Division of Juvenile Justice over a separate disturbance. The weekly filings counts below are the court report's own counts for the week ending Oct. 6, and that report added two cases to Monday, Oct. 5 after publishing that day as complete.15
- October 6, 2026A judge lifted the competency stay in a Fairbanks first-degree murder case indicted in January, allowing it to proceed after two earlier orders had halted it. A Fairbanks man arrested on Sunday was charged on Monday with first-degree burglary in a dwelling, a Class B felony, and with violating a domestic violence protective order. A ninth Fairbanks case number has stopped returning records in the state court's public database, and this one carried three filed domestic violence counts; the court's dispositions report, which refreshed on Oct. 5, records the other eight as closed cases. Three Fairbanks cases closed on Oct. 2 with two guilty pleas and a dismissal. The filing counts below are the weekly report's own counts for the week ending Oct. 5.11
- October 5, 2026Three charges were filed at the Nenana court over a domestic violence arrest made at Healy on Saturday, two of them counts of assault when a child is present, and all three carry an offence location of Healy. A Fairbanks man was arrested on Sunday morning on allegations of violating a domestic violence protective order and burglary in the first degree, and no criminal court file exists for that arrest. A second domestic violence case was filed against a Fairbanks man on the day he was arraigned on a first. An eighth Fairbanks-area case number printed by the court now returns no records in the court's public database. The filing counts below are the weekly report's own counts for the week ending Oct. 4; that report has added a seventh case to Saturday, Oct. 3, which it omitted when it ran the previous evening.8
- October 4, 2026Three men were charged with Class C felonies in Fairbanks on Saturday - felony failure to stop for a police officer, felony driving under the influence with prior convictions, and third-degree assault with a weapon - and all three were arraigned the same afternoon. A seventh case was filed at Fairbanks on Saturday, carrying two domestic violence counts, which the court's weekly charges report for that week does not contain. Alaska State Troopers logged two incidents at Healy, a death investigation recorded as natural causes and a domestic violence arrest, and a further domestic violence arrest at Fairbanks early on Sunday. Seven Fairbanks case numbers printed by the court return no records in its public database; a case closed on Oct. 4 for want of a charging document does still return records, so that state does not account for the seven. Filing counts by court below are the weekly report's own counts for Sep. 27 to Oct. 3 and do not include the Saturday case the report omits.14
- October 3, 2026A Fairbanks man indicted in January for the first-degree murder of his grandmother is due back in court on Monday for a contested competency hearing, after state prosecutors challenged a hospital evaluation finding him unlikely to be restored to competency. Three Class A felony methamphetamine charges and an attempted second-degree arson were filed on Friday, and the Fairbanks police bulletin added 33 events to dates it had already published, including an aggravated assault with a weapon.13
- October 2, 2026A Class A felony robbery charge was filed at Fairbanks on Oct. 1 and a warrant issued at $20,000, and a grand jury indicted in the North Pole kidnapping case, which moves to Superior Court on Oct. 7. A newly published Fairbanks police record for September dates the Bentley Drive shooting that killed two people to Sept. 16 and lists 312 incidents in the city, including two previously unreported death investigations.15
- October 1, 2026A Class B felony assault charge in a Fairbanks case was amended in court on Sept. 30 to a Class A misdemeanor, and sentencing in the Fairbanks child homicide case against Cedar Mae Sarten was reset from Nov. 6 to Jan. 29, 2027. Eleven criminal cases were filed at Fairbanks on Wednesday, two of them carrying felony counts, and the court's weekly report added eight more cases to Tuesday's filings.14
September 2026
- September 30, 2026A Fairbanks police bulletin backfill put a robbery with a cutting instrument and an aggravated assault into public view three days after they were reported, part of sixteen events added to five earlier dates. A Fourth Judicial District grand jury indicted two defendants on Sept. 29, raising one count from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class C felony, and prosecutors dropped one of two felony drug counts against a defendant arrested in the Sept. 16 narcotics operation. A federal judgment of more than $1.3 million was recorded in a bribery case over construction contracts at Eielson Air Force Base, inside the coverage area. In a later pass on Sept. 30, four of the records this report is built from could not be reached, so no court case was re-checked after the morning and the results of six hearings set for Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 are unverified.20
- September 29, 2026Three counts of felony methamphetamine manufacture or delivery were filed against a Fairbanks man on Monday, and a warrant was requested. A warrant was also issued in a five-count Fairbanks domestic violence case, and troopers arrested a North Pole woman on an assault charge and a warrant from a 2024 theft case. On the evening rescan, troopers reported a John Deere tractor stolen from a Chena Pump Road residence and a Fairbanks DUI arrest, the city police bulletin recorded a hit and run on the Old Steese Highway, and an omnibus hearing in a North Pole assault case was continued, with a bail hearing set for Thursday.14
- September 28, 2026Court files were opened on Monday in both of the weekend's Fairbanks domestic violence arrests, one of them carrying two felony counts. A driver arrested after an injury collision on the Parks Highway is charged with a felony assault. Troopers reported the death of a Fairbanks woman on Monday afternoon and a separate domestic disturbance referred to prosecutors. A Saturday arrest that city police recorded as a felony assault with a weapon was filed in court as a single misdemeanor, and the state court system's dispositions report updated for the first time in a week.13
- September 27, 2026Burglary charges filed in a Cantwell trespass arrest, four overnight DUI arrests by troopers, two city arrests including a felony assault, and a Delta Junction terroristic-threatening case with hearings set in Fairbanks. The court's dispositions report has not updated since Sep. 21.9
- September 26, 2026A Fairbanks man indicted Sep. 9 on a felony assault charge was arrested on the warrant Sep. 24. Nineteen city arrests logged at the courthouse block Sep. 21–24 were identified as in-court custody events.2
