The court's own File Date field gives Oct. 3 and the docket row records the complaint as true filed on Oct. 3. Whether the case was entered into the court's system after the report was run cannot be established from either document and is not asserted here.

A North Pole case number was opened and closed on the same day, with no charging document filed

Alaska CourtView records 4FA-26-02018CR, State of Alaska vs. Eakin, Jess, with a file date of Oct. 4 and a case status of Closed. One count is recorded as charging document pending or not filed, with no degree of offence and not recorded as domestic violence related. The offence location is North Pole and the date of offence Oct. 3. The docket carries one row, dated Oct. 4: Complaint or Citation Not Filed. Case Closed. No charge class is stated here, because none is on the file.

An Alaska State Troopers dispatch entry posted at 7:04 a.m. on Oct. 4, AK26098839, records a traffic stop at North Pole on Oct. 3, an arrest, and a small quantity of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and states that the driver was charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fifth degree. The arresting agency recorded a charge; the court file records that no charging document was filed and that the case is closed. Both records are set out and the court file governs. No person is described here as convicted of anything.

A case in this state still returns records in the public database. It resolves both by case number and by name search, with its status, its offence location and the docket row giving the reason.

Three more Fairbanks-area case numbers were opened on Sunday with no charge recorded against them

All three were filed Oct. 4, all three carry one count recorded as charging document pending or not filed with no degree of offence, none is recorded as domestic violence related, none carries a docket entry, and all three are calendared for arraignment on Oct. 9 at 8:30 a.m. No charge class is stated for any of them, because none is on any of the files. Each defendant is arrested or charged, not convicted.

4FA-26-02015CR, State of Alaska vs. Tritt, Michael, offence location Fairbanks, date of offence Oct. 3. The Fairbanks Police Department daily bulletin records an arrest at the 1000 block of Lacey Street at 7:23 p.m. on Oct. 3 under case 26003036, on a charge recorded by police as criminal trespass in the second degree, upon premises, with a stated age of 51.

4FA-26-02016CR, State of Alaska vs. Baldwin, Thomas Joel, offence location Fairbanks, date of offence Oct. 3. An Alaska State Troopers dispatch entry, AK26098736, records a report of a driver near Chena Pump Road at about 8:35 p.m. on Oct. 3, an arrest and a remand to the Fairbanks Correctional Center, and names Thomas Baldwin, 35, of North Pole. No court file for that arrest existed when the court record was searched earlier on Oct. 4; one exists as of midday and it carries no charge.

4FA-26-02017CR, State of Alaska vs. Riva, Sarah, offence location North Pole, date of offence Oct. 3. This case appears in no other public record consulted: not in the trooper dispatch for Oct. 3 or Oct. 4, not on the Fairbanks city bulletin, which covers the city of Fairbanks only, and not in any newsroom. North Pole has no public incident feed of any kind, so a North Pole arrest reaches the public only through a court record.

Man charged with criminal mischief after a Fairbanks domestic violence arrest early Sunday

The Alaska State Troopers daily dispatch records that at about 3:22 a.m. on Oct. 4 troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a disturbance, that the investigation indicated a man had assaulted a household member and damaged doors at the residence, and that Matthew Dixon, 22, of Fairbanks was arrested and taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on charges recorded by troopers as assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. The entry was posted at 7:43 a.m.

The court file, 4FA-26-02019CR, State of Alaska vs. Dixon, Matthew David, was filed Oct. 4 with a status of Open and carries one count: criminal mischief in the fourth degree, property damage of $250 to $749, AS 11.46.484(a)(1), a Class A misdemeanour, recorded as domestic violence related, offence location Fairbanks, date of offence Oct. 4. The case proceeds on a complaint. An arraignment was calendared for Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m., with a pre-trial conference on Nov. 19 and a trial week beginning Nov. 30. The case judge is Seekins. He is arrested and charged, not convicted.

No assault count appears on the court file. The count on the file carries tracking number 002 against the arrest tracking number, which indicates a count 001 under the same number; no such count appears on this file or on any other 2026 case found under that name, and no charge class is stated for the assault recorded by the arresting agency. The dispatch gives the man's age as 22 and the court record gives 21; the court record governs.

Man charged with felony failure to stop for an officer after Saturday traffic incident

A Fairbanks man was charged on Saturday, Oct. 3, with failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer, reckless driving, under AS 28.35.182(a)(1), a Class C felony. Court records also list one count of driving under the influence, a Class A misdemeanour, with the offence location recorded as North Pole and a breath alcohol concentration of .144, and one count of reckless driving recorded as a misdemeanour that is not classified.

All three counts are offence-dated Oct. 3 and none is flagged as domestic violence related. The case is on a complaint and has not been to a grand jury. An arraignment was held on Oct. 3 and preliminary hearings are set for Oct. 13 and Oct. 22. The case judge is Temple. The defendant is charged, not convicted.

Fairbanks driver charged with felony DUI after early-morning traffic stop

Alaska State Troopers stopped a vehicle at Van Horn Road and Peger Road at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. The dispatch states the driver was arrested for driving under the influence, provided a breath sample of 0.085 grams of alcohol per 210 litres at the Peger Road trooper post, and was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Facility.

The court file charges one count of felony driving under the influence with two or more prior convictions, under AS 28.35.030(n), a Class C felony. The trooper dispatch records the arrest as driving under the influence and makes no reference to a prior conviction; the charge class comes from the court file. An arraignment was held Oct. 3, and preliminary hearings are set for Oct. 13 and Oct. 22. The case judge is Schwalm. The defendant is charged, not convicted.

Man charged with third-degree assault after North Pole disturbance

Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call at 8:48 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, reporting an active disturbance at North Pole. The dispatch records an arrest for domestic violence assault and a remand to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

The court file charges one count of assault in the third degree, cause injury with a weapon, under AS 11.41.220(a)(1)(B), a Class C felony, recorded as domestic violence related. The court file records the offence location as Fairbanks; the trooper dispatch records North Pole. The dispatch does not refer to a weapon. The case is on a complaint. Man found dead at seasonal camp near Healy; troopers record natural causes

Alaska State Troopers from Nenana and Cantwell responded to mile 229 of the Parks Highway at about 9:24 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, for a report of a deceased person. The dispatch states that Timothy Murphy, 45, of Wasilla, was found dead by coworkers at their seasonal camp, and that he appeared to have died of natural causes in the early morning hours of Oct. 2.

Troopers record no evidence of foul play. The remains are being held for the State Medical Examiner's Office and next of kin have been notified. No finding by that office has been announced. No crime is alleged.

Healy man arrested on domestic violence assault charges

Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in Healy at 4:14 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. The dispatch states that Sho Morimoto, of Healy, was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center, where he was held without bail pending arraignment.

The charges recorded by troopers are assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence) and two counts of assault in the presence of a child (domestic violence). No court file exists for the arrest and no charge class is stated here, because none has been filed. Nothing in the record identifies any person recorded as a victim, or any child. He is arrested, not convicted.

Assault reported at Fairbanks bar; charges forwarded to prosecutors

Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported assault at the Marlin Bar in Fairbanks at about 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3. The dispatch states a suspect was identified and that charges are being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office, and that the investigation is ongoing.

No suspect is named in the dispatch, no arrest is recorded, and no court file exists. No charge class is stated here.

North Pole man arrested on a DUI charge after a report near Chena Pump

Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Chena Pump at about 8:35 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, after a report of a possibly impaired driver. The dispatch states that Thomas Baldwin, 35, of North Pole, was found to be operating under the influence and was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

No court file existed for the arrest when the court record was searched on the morning of Oct. 4: the arrest appears in no case in the court's weekly charges report for the window ending Oct. 3, and a name search of the court database returned no open criminal case. Seven Fairbanks case numbers printed by the court no longer return records in its public database

Seven criminal case numbers that appear in Alaska Court System records return No Records Found when searched in Alaska CourtView, the court's public case lookup. All seven were searched on the morning of Oct. 4 and again at midday.

Two are new. 4FA-26-02004CR was open in CourtView on the morning of Oct. 3, with one count recorded as charging document pending or not filed, no docket entries and an arraignment calendared for that afternoon; it no longer resolves. 4FA-26-02013CR was printed in the court's weekly charges report for the week ending Oct. 3, also with no charging document, and does not resolve either.

The five already recorded are 4FA-26-01862CR, 4FA-26-01933CR and 4FA-26-01934CR, denied for a ninth consecutive day, and 4FA-26-01904CR and 4FA-26-01984CR, denied for a third. The court's own dispositions report records three of the five as closed with nothing charged against them, and its window closed on Oct. 1, so it records nothing about the newer numbers. No charge is recorded against any of the seven.

A case number can be opened at booking and closed if no charging document is filed. That state is recorded on 4FA-26-02018CR, filed and closed on Oct. 4, and a case in that state still returns records: it resolves by case number and by name search, with its status, its offence location and a docket row giving the reason. The seven numbers here resolve by neither route. The explanation carried in earlier editions - that a case closed for want of a charging document stops appearing in the public database until charges arrive - is withdrawn as an account of these seven. No explanation is offered in its place.

Healy court records a ninth week with no criminal filings, on a night troopers logged two Healy incidents

The Alaska Court System's weekly criminal charges report for the week ending Oct. 3 contains no section for the Healy court, the ninth consecutive week with no criminal case filed there.

That count is a count of filings at one courthouse rather than of incidents at Healy. On Saturday night the Alaska State Troopers logged two Healy events: a death investigation at a seasonal camp off the Parks Highway, in which natural causes are recorded, and a domestic violence arrest on charges recorded by troopers as assault in the fourth degree and two counts of assault in the presence of a child. Neither will be filed at the Healy court. Healy offences are charged at the Nenana court and, where a felony is involved, at Fairbanks. One Healy offence appears in the current window, a licence offence filed at Nenana.
