The Fairbanks court file 4FA-26-02028CR, opened on Oct. 6 on one count of assault in the third degree, cause fear of injury with a weapon, under AS 11.41.220(a)(1)(A), a Class C felony, is printed on Oct. 11 against the name Donovan Paige Wright. This report published the same case number, the same arrest tracking number and the same single count against the name Daniel Owen Knight on Oct. 8, Oct. 9 and Oct. 10. The correction is below.

The count, its class, its arrest tracking number and its offence date of Oct. 6 at Fairbanks are unchanged. The count is recorded as not domestic violence related. The indicted-charge and amended-charge fields are empty, so the case is on a complaint rather than an indictment. The case status is open and the case judge is Bahr.

Six docket entries dated Oct. 10 are new on the file: two reading errata as to name and identifiers, two proofs of service, a temporary order with release conditions and an attorney order after arraignment, and log notes for an arraignment. A second arraignment, held on Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. before the weekend and holiday judge, is recorded as held; the first was held on Oct. 7. An attorney entry dated Oct. 7 still records the Public Defender Agency as representing a defendant under the earlier name. Preliminary hearings stand for Oct. 15 and Oct. 27.

A second file, 4FA-26-02064CR, was opened on Oct. 10 against the name now carried on the felony file. It charges one count of giving false information or a false report, identification at arrest, investigation or incarceration, under AS 11.56.800(a)(1)(B)(i), a Class A misdemeanour, offence-dated Oct. 6 at Fairbanks, which is the date of the arrest behind the felony file. The two files carry different arrest tracking numbers. The case judge is Christian, an arraignment stands for Oct. 12, a pre-trial conference for Dec. 3 and a trial week for Dec. 14.

Fairbanks police recorded an arrest under the later name at the 1900 block of Eagan Avenue at 16:55 on Oct. 9 on a charge the police recorded as giving false information as to identity at arrest.

What the records state is that the party name on the felony file changed, that the docket carries two errata as to name and identifiers, and that a separate misdemeanour count of giving false information as to identity at arrest is filed for the day of that arrest. Nothing further is asserted here, and in particular this report does not state how the earlier name came to be on the file. The person charged on the felony file is charged, not convicted, and the charge is unchanged.

They are driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance under AS 28.35.030(a)(1), a Class A misdemeanour; assault in the fourth degree, cause fear of injury, under AS 11.41.230(a)(3), a Class A misdemeanour; driving with a licence cancelled, suspended or revoked for a criminal offence under AS 28.15.291(a)(1), a Class A misdemeanour; and three counts of assault in the third degree, repeat threat of death or injury, under AS 11.41.220(a)(2), Class C felonies. None of the six is flagged as domestic violence related. The indicted-charge and amended-charge fields are empty on all six counts, so the case is on a complaint. The case judge is Peterson and a rural calendar call is set for Oct. 20.

Troopers recorded the incident as a single-vehicle rollover reported at 20:53 on Oct. 9 on the Clear Access Road at Anderson. The trooper report states that the investigation determined the driver had been under the influence of alcohol, that during treatment he made repeated threats to emergency medical personnel and their families, that a search warrant was obtained and blood collected for analysis, and that he was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center after medical clearance and held without bail pending arraignment on those six offences.

The six filed counts are the six offences the trooper report names. The offence-location column on all six counts reads Fairbanks, while the trooper report places the crash at Anderson on the Clear Access Road. Both are recorded here and neither is reconciled.

Anderson lies about 75 miles south-west of Fairbanks on the Parks Highway. It is policed by the Alaska State Troopers, has no municipal police feed, and its cases are charged at the Nenana court. He is charged, not convicted. Nothing in either record identifies any person recorded as a victim.

Troopers record a six-offence arrest at Fairbanks, including two counts of third-degree assault, and no court file carries any of them

The Alaska State Troopers daily dispatch for Oct. 10 records that troopers arrested a 46-year-old man named in the entry as Ryan James for domestic violence burglary, domestic violence criminal trespass, domestic violence criminal mischief, vehicle theft and assault in the third degree twice over, and that he was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. The entry gives no time of offence and no location beyond Fairbanks. The age is as the trooper report states it.

No court file carries any of those counts as this report was compiled. A dated name search of the court system's public database for Sep. 1 to Oct. 11 returns two files under that name: 4FA-26-01983CR, one count of criminal trespass in the second degree, upon premises, a Class B misdemeanour, offence-dated Sep. 30; and 4FA-26-02035CR, which still records one count as a charging document pending or not filed, with no degree of offence, offence-dated Oct. 8, with an arraignment set for Oct. 16. Neither file carries a burglary, a vehicle theft or an assault count. None of the eight Fairbanks files opened on Oct. 10 is under that name.

The offences listed above are what the arresting agency recorded, which is not a charging document, and no charge class is stated here for any of them. The records do not state that the person arrested on Oct. 10 is the defendant on either existing file and no such connection is asserted. He is arrested, not convicted. The trooper report records that at about 01:10 on Oct. 10 troopers responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence, contacted a man and a woman, and determined that he had intentionally damaged her mobile telephone during an argument, which caused the device to place an emergency call. The trooper report records the offence as criminal mischief in the third degree under AS 11.46.482(a)(1), on the stated ground that the value of the damage exceeded $750. The filed count is the fourth degree and the lower damage band. Both are recorded here and the court file is the charge of record.

The Alaska State Troopers daily dispatch records that on Oct. 9, 2026 troopers responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence off Old Steese Highway North, that following the investigation it was determined that Karin Debaun had passed away in her home, that no foul play is suspected, and that next of kin have been notified. The entry is typed as a deceased person with a location of Fairbanks and was posted on Oct. 10.

No crime is alleged. The entry states no age, no manner of death and no referral to the State Medical Examiner's Office, and no finding by that office has been announced. Nothing further from the entry is reproduced here.

Forty-nine criminal cases filed in the Fairbanks area in the week to Oct. 10

The Alaska Court System's weekly criminal charges report, run at 9:00 p.m. on Oct. 10 for the window Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, lists 42 cases filed at Fairbanks, five at Nenana, two at Delta Junction and none at Healy. It is the sixteenth consecutive week with no case filed at the Healy court. The report's fifty-nine pages were read in full for the four court prefixes inside the coverage area and the offence-location column was scanned separately for coverage-area place names.

Nine of the cases were filed on Saturday, Oct. 10: eight at Fairbanks, numbered 4FA-26-02058CR to 02065CR, and one at Nenana. Four of the nine carry felony counts, five are flagged as domestic violence related on at least one count, and three carry no charge at all.

Eight further case numbers that the court opened on Oct. 8, 4FA-26-02042CR to 02049CR, resolve in the court's own public database but appear nowhere in the weekly report for a third consecutive run, although the report's window covers Oct. 8. Each is filed against a party recorded as Grand Jury, with one count recorded as a charging document pending and no docket entries.
